Fatal Collision on Foothill Road Claims One Life

A tragic traffic collision occurred late last night on August 26, 2024, resulting in a fatality. The incident took place at approximately 10:21 PM on westbound Highway 84, just east of Pleasanton Sunol Road, near 9945 Foothill Road. A blue or black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided with a tree, causing severe damage to the vehicle and trapping the driver inside.

Emergency services were promptly notified, and units were dispatched to the scene. Despite the swift response, the driver was found unresponsive and without a pulse. The coroner was contacted and arrived shortly after to confirm the fatality. Tow services were also requested to remove the heavily damaged vehicle from the scene.

The collision partially blocked the roadway, causing minor traffic disruptions in the area. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident. The San Francisco Water District has been informed and aims to respond within seven days as part of their protocol.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traveling through the area and to be aware of ongoing investigations. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
