Major Traffic Collision on US101 in San Jose Leaves One Severely Injured

A severe traffic collision occurred early this morning on southbound US101 near Alum Rock Avenue in San Jose, resulting in major injuries. The incident took place at approximately 3:33 AM on September 1, 2024, when a single vehicle veered off the road and landed about 40 feet down an embankment.

Emergency responders, including the San Jose Fire Department and California Highway Patrol, arrived promptly at the scene. Officer Garcia reported that one male occupant suffered severe head injuries and was transported to Valley Medical Center (VMC) for urgent medical care. Two other individuals were involved, with one passenger still inside the vehicle when authorities arrived.

Family Towing was called to remove the vehicle, which will be held as evidence by Campbell Collision. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traveling through the area as cleanup and investigation efforts continue.
