Multi-Vehicle Collision Causes Traffic Disruption on US-101 in Menlo Park

Anderson Franco Law

A multi-vehicle collision involving a gray Tesla, a black Silverado truck, and an SUV caused significant traffic disruption on northbound US-101 near Willow Road in Menlo Park on the evening of June 25, 2025. The incident, which occurred around 6:55 PM, resulted in lanes 3 and 4 being blocked, prompting the California Highway Patrol to issue a SigAlert. Emergency services, including Menlo Park Fire, responded promptly to the scene.

The crash led to debris, including metal, plastic, and glass, scattered across the roadway, further complicating the situation. Two of the vehicles involved were rendered undrivable, necessitating towing services. Fortunately, no additional tows were required as the third vehicle remained drivable. The blocked lanes caused significant delays for commuters, with an estimated clearance time of 15-20 minutes initially projected.

Authorities worked diligently to clear the roadway, and by 8:13 PM, the SigAlert was lifted, and traffic flow resumed. Motorists are advised to remain cautious and patient as residual delays may persist. Our thoughts are with those affected by this unfortunate incident, and we urge drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic advisories to ensure safety on the roads.

Potential Legal Considerations

When someone is hurt because another person was careless, it’s called negligence. In these cases, the person who got hurt might have the right to get help or money for what happened. To show that someone was negligent, you usually need to prove four things: duty, breach, causation, and damages. This means the person who caused the harm had a responsibility to be careful, they didn’t do that, their actions directly led to the harm, and the harm caused real problems for the victim.

For people who have been hurt, it’s important to know they might be able to get help through insurance claims. If the person who caused the harm has insurance, the victim can file a claim to get money for things like medical bills or other costs. This process can sometimes be complicated, and it might help to have a lawyer or someone who knows about insurance to guide them.

Insurance companies often look at the details of what happened to decide if they will pay a claim. They might check if the person who caused the harm was really at fault and if the victim’s costs are reasonable. Sometimes, insurance companies try to pay less than what the victim needs, so it’s important for victims to know their rights and make sure they get fair treatment.

In the end, victims of negligence have rights that can help them recover from what happened. They should gather all the information they can about the incident and consider getting advice from professionals who can help them with legal and insurance matters. This way, they can make sure they get the support they need to move forward.
