Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-680 South in Sunol Causes Major Traffic Delays

A multi-vehicle collision occurred early this morning on Interstate 680 South at the State Route 84 interchange in Sunol, causing significant traffic disruptions and resulting in multiple injuries. The incident, which took place at approximately 6:21 AM, involved a Ford F-150, a Nissan Sentra, and a white work van, among other vehicles.

Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene, with California Highway Patrol (CHP) and United Tow responding to the accident. The collision led to major front-end damage to the involved vehicles and blocked several lanes of traffic. At least one 60-year-old male was reported to be breathing and conscious but experiencing pain. Tow trucks were delayed due to heavy traffic but were eventually permitted to use the shoulder to reach the site.

The crash has had a considerable impact on the morning commute, with traffic backed up for miles. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and exercise caution while driving through the area.
