A serious traffic collision involving four vehicles occurred on the northbound I-880 at the Mission Boulevard offramp in Fremont on the evening of December 17, 2024. The incident, reported at approximately 7:16 PM, involved a red Lexus sedan, a gray Mercedes-Benz, a gray Infiniti, and an unidentified vehicle. Emergency services, including the California Highway Patrol and local fire departments, responded promptly to the scene.

The collision resulted in significant damage to the vehicles, with one vehicle overturning and another emitting smoke. At least one individual was trapped inside a vehicle, necessitating urgent rescue efforts. The crash blocked multiple lanes, causing significant traffic disruptions in the area. Tow trucks were dispatched to clear the wreckage, and all lanes were eventually reopened later in the evening.
