Traffic Collision on SR-87 in San Jose Leaves Two Injured

Anderson Franco Law

A traffic collision involving multiple vehicles occurred on the southbound lanes of State Route 87 near Alma Avenue in San Jose on the evening of June 19, 2025. The incident, reported at approximately 9:20 PM, involved a dark blue Toyota Camry and a white van, resulting in injuries to two individuals.

Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene, where they found the vehicles blocking lane one. The collision caused significant damage to the vehicles, particularly a blue Honda, which required towing. The injured parties, a male driver and a female passenger, sustained injuries, with the passenger suffering from rib pain. Fortunately, no individuals were trapped in the vehicles.

The accident led to temporary lane closures, causing traffic delays in the area. By 10:20 PM, all lanes were reopened, and the scene was cleared. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and remain vigilant while driving, especially in areas prone to congestion and accidents. Our thoughts are with those injured, and we wish them a swift recovery.

Potential Legal Considerations

When someone is hurt because another person was careless, it is called negligence. In these cases, the person who got hurt might have the right to get help or money for what happened. To show that someone was negligent, the injured person needs to prove a few things. First, they must show that the other person had a duty to be careful. Then, they need to prove that the person did not act carefully and that this caused the injury. Finally, they must show that they were harmed because of this carelessness.

If someone is hurt in an accident, they might be able to file a claim with the insurance company of the person who caused the accident. This is because many people have insurance to help pay for accidents. The insurance company might pay for things like medical bills or other costs related to the accident. However, sometimes insurance companies do not want to pay, or they might offer less money than what is needed. In these cases, the injured person might need to talk to a lawyer to help them get what they deserve.

It is important for victims to know their rights and to act quickly. There are usually time limits for filing claims or lawsuits, called statutes of limitations. If a victim waits too long, they might not be able to get any help at all. Talking to a lawyer can help victims understand their rights and what steps they need to take. Lawyers can also help negotiate with insurance companies to try to get a fair settlement.
