Anderson Franco Law

A traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle occurred on State Route 35, approximately four miles north of State Route 9, in the vicinity of the Santa Cruz Mountains, on the evening of July 23, 2025. The incident was reported at 6:12 PM, with emergency services promptly responding to the scene.

According to initial reports, the collision resulted in two individuals sustaining minor injuries. The California Highway Patrol and CAL FIRE were on-site to manage the situation and provide necessary medical assistance to the injured parties. The vehicle involved was found positioned sideways on the roadway, contributing to the traffic disruption in the northbound lanes.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution while traveling through the area as cleanup and investigation efforts continue. Authorities have not released further details about the cause of the collision, but the presence of motorcycle riders on either side of the incident highlights the need for heightened awareness and safety on the roads. Our thoughts are with those affected by this unfortunate event.

Potential Legal Considerations

When someone is hurt because another person wasn’t careful, it’s called negligence. In these cases, the person who got hurt might have the right to get help or money to make up for what happened. This is called a personal injury claim. To win a negligence case, the injured person has to show that the other person had a duty to be careful, didn’t do their duty, and that this caused the injury.

In many situations, the person who was not careful might have insurance. This insurance can help pay for the costs that come from the accident, like medical bills or lost time at work. The injured person can file a claim with the insurance company to try to get this money. It’s important for the injured person to keep track of all their expenses and any proof that shows how the accident happened.

Sometimes, the insurance company might not want to pay or might offer less money than needed. In these cases, the injured person might need to talk to a lawyer to help them. A lawyer can help explain the rights of the injured person and work to get a fair amount of money from the insurance company. It’s important for victims to know they have rights and options to get the help they need after an accident.
