A serious traffic collision involving two vehicles occurred on southbound I-880 near Stevenson Boulevard in Fremont at approximately 12:04 PM on September 15, 2024. The incident involved a black Kia Forte and a white Honda pickup truck, resulting in significant damage and multiple injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the black Kia Forte collided with the white Honda pickup truck, causing the truck to veer off the roadway into a ditch. Emergency services were promptly dispatched, and lanes were temporarily blocked to facilitate rescue operations. The injured parties were attended to by paramedics on the scene and subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The collision also caused damage to approximately 25 feet of chain-link fencing along the highway. Traffic was impacted for several hours, with only three to four lanes open at one point. Motorists were advised to exercise caution and seek alternative routes to avoid the area.
