Two-Vehicle Collision on Old Redwood Highway Leaves Two Injured

Anderson Franco Law

A serious traffic collision involving two vehicles occurred on Old Redwood Highway in Santa Rosa on the evening of April 6, 2025. The incident, which took place at approximately 7:04 PM, involved a silver Yukon and a black SUV. Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene, where they found one individual requiring extrication due to significant injuries, including a head injury and bleeding. Another individual sustained a laceration to the right arm.

The collision resulted in the temporary closure of the northbound lanes as emergency responders worked to assist the injured and clear the roadway. Two tow companies were called to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles. The road was reopened later in the evening, allowing traffic to resume.

Authorities have not released further details about the cause of the collision. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traveling through the area and to remain vigilant for any residual traffic disruptions. Our thoughts are with the injured individuals, and we wish them a swift recovery.

Potential Legal Considerations

When someone is hurt because another person was careless, it is called negligence. In these cases, the person who got hurt might have the right to get help or money from the person who caused the accident. To prove negligence, the injured person must show that the other person had a duty to be careful, did not act carefully, and that this caused the injury. For example, if someone is driving a car, they have a duty to follow traffic rules and drive safely. If they don’t and someone gets hurt, they might be responsible.

Victims of accidents can also make insurance claims to help cover costs. If the person who caused the accident has insurance, the victim can file a claim with that insurance company. This can help pay for things like medical bills and other expenses related to the accident. It’s important for victims to report the accident to the insurance company as soon as possible and provide all the necessary information.

Sometimes, the insurance company might not want to pay the full amount needed. In these cases, the victim might need to talk to a lawyer to help them get what they deserve. A lawyer can help explain the victim’s rights and make sure the insurance company treats them fairly. It’s important for victims to know that they have rights and options to get help after an accident.
